To qualify for the promotional Annual Percentage Yield (APY) and Gold-Plated Snake Figurine offer, a new personal or business CD (Certificate of Deposit account) must be opened during the promotional period with a minimum deposit of $50,000 in new funds for either a 7-month or 13-month term. The minimum balance required to earn the promotional APY is the same as minimum opening CD deposit balance. Promotional APYs and figurine will also apply to the renewal of an existing CD during the promotional period only if a minimum of $30,000 new funds is added to the CD. New funds are defined as funds not currently on deposit at Cathay Bank and exclude any funds closed within the previous 10 business days.
